OUR
STORY...
We officially started our business in October of 2019. We went to Texas in August of that year to look at this food trailer. At that time it was owned by a family member that was not using it. After a lot of thought and advice from our friends and family, we drove down on Labor Day weekend to pick it up. It was not the easiest drive home pulling this trailer, we had a lot of things happen along the way. Some good some not so good, but all in all it was an adventure for sure!! We talked a lot about names for the food trailer along the way and what food we were going to have. That is when we came up with the name, “FOOD ADVENTURES” It just seemed to fit.
We had 2 months to start payments, so when we got back home, we started cleaning and doing everything we had to do to get our business started. We officially started in October, 2019 with just with some of our friends and family coming over to check it out. Our menu started with about 15-20 items.
We started setting up at Brooks Huff Goodyear (through a friend). We couldn’t stay there because it is in Penn Township and it is almost impossible to get a permit there.
In January of 2020 the manager at Hanover Sam’s club said that we could set up there on the weekends. In the next few months COVID was bad and restaurants started closing. We were considered “take out” so we stayed open. We started making full meals for people and our menu started growing. We like having this great variety of food for people. Our Chef has been working in restaurants a good part of his life and loves to cook just about anything.
We still make almost everything homemade ourselves including our soups, coleslaw, Mac & cheese, crab cakes, crab dip, taco meat and much more. Our burgers are all handpatted from fresh ground beef.
We are a completely family owned and run business.
We also give back to the community that we serve. Our main charities and non-profits that we give to are: the local Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children's Miracle Network & Mason-Dixon Youth for Christ. We prepare a "Free Will" Breakfast every month on Sunday mornings in our church, New Hope Faith Community, that is open to the community from 8:30 - 10:45am.
We travel all over York & Adams County and the surrounding areas. Our schedule fills up fast so if you are interested in having us at an event, the sooner you contact us the better. Our food trailer is run year round and we cater too with and without the trailer!
On Saturdays from Jan - mid March we are set up at the South Hanover YMCA (supporting their Kids Come First Campaign) at their indoor fieldhouse location. We set up concessions inside, but our full food trailer menu is available.
Thank you all for your continued support… hope to see you all soon.
